Technical Officer - School of Science
(Selangor - Bandar Sunway)
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent reports to the Science Laboratory Manager. Responsibilities include assisting the Laboratory Manager in general maintenance and operations of the laboratories , preparing the laboratories for practical classes and planning purchases related to practical classes.
Requirements:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree is desirable but a basic science background with at least a MLT / STPM / SPM or equivalent with comparable laboratory experience may be substituted for tertiary education.
- Ability to understand and interpret written material of a fairly technical nature including chemical and biological terminology.
- Good organization skills to maintain instruments and the laboratories in optimal condition.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to utilize independent judgment in solving problems.
- Ability to follow safe laboratory practices.
- Knowledge and ability to operate computer and various software applications e.g. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to carry out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision and establish work priorities on procedure oriented operations.
- Ability to communicate well in English.
- Manual dexterity to perform job responsibilities.
