Enterprise Application Database Administrator
(Penang - Bayan Lepas)
- As an Enterprise Application Database Administrator, you will work in the Enterprise Application Database Service group, which is part of the dynamic Global IT team at Altera. You will work very closely with the IT Applications Development team, Business Analyst and Network Computing Service team. You will be responsible for administrating and managing the batch jobs, enterprise database servers and applications. This includes installation and maintenance of database servers and applications, data storage structure and objects creations, DB security, database monitoring and performance optimization, data backup and recovery , batch job process and operations support.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years (or more) of database administration experience
- Have strong technical and hands-on experience with the Oracle8i/9i/10g and SQL Server 2000/2005 RDBMS systems including DB setup, configuration and optimization
- Have hands-on experience with UNIX (Solaris), K-shell programming and Windows servers
- Posses work experience in Redwood administration and operational support
- Certifications for Oracle (OCP DBA) and SQL Server (MCDBA) is a plus
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Be a team player, fast-learner, flexible, dependable and be able to provide excellent and quality service support
- Possess strong problem solving and good analytical skills
- Understand and possess SAP applications functional knowledge will be an an added advantage
