Senior Software Quality Specialist
(Selangor - Petaling Jaya)

Responsibilities:

• Performs quality control and quality assurance testing of applications using a set of testing tools that includes Quality Center, along with Nielsen testing frameworks, processes and methodologies, and the Software Certification Process.
• Reviews application requirements and project documentation and asks follow-up questions as needed in order to gain a full understanding of requirements, including the completeness and testability of the requirements, and providing feedback to the project if the requirements need improvement including recording requirements defects in Quality Center
• Will ensure that all requirements are entered or imported into Quality Center
• Develops test plans and test cases in Quality Center to ensure coverage of requirements, and provides traceability of tests to requirements using Quality Center
• Executes test cases, records results, and manages defects using Quality Center.
• Demonstrates understanding of the Nielsen testing framework, including leveraging the appropriate framework for the project need and filing the correct artifacts from the framework
• Leads test plan and test case reviews
• Provide feedback to project team and other internal customers on the production readiness of software
• Researches, documents, and provides assessment of  incidents
• Demonstrates commitment to achieving project goals
• Demonstrates commitment to Testing & Validation team initiatives
• Leads a small QA team; provides direction and mentoring to fellow team members, directing, formulating, and developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases
• Researches, documents, assesses, and facilitates resolution of software defects
• Conducts software risk assessment
• Review artifacts created by other team members and provide feedback
• Displays expert-level knowledge and abilities in testing processes and techniques
• Create and maintain professional relationships with all key project and business stakeholders ensuring positive working relationships between T&V and others

Job Purpose:

• Responsible for formulating test strategies and test plans; developing, executing and maintaining test cases, test procedures and test scripts for software systems; with a focus on manual functional and compatibility testing of moderate to highly complex systems.
• Provides clear and concise feedback to management on the production readiness of the software being tested, ensuring that Nielsen systems meet the highest standard of quality that is practical to obtain.

Job Competencies:

• Possess good communication skills (verbal and written in English) and the ability to work with a diverse range of people with varying levels of technical understanding
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, fast learner, always deliver high quality results on timely manner
• Dynamic, self-motivated and results-oriented and possess good interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field. Candidate from other degree background with strong competencies as above are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 6 years of testing experience with some experience leading small work teams
• Experience using testing software (Quality Center 10.0) will be an added advantage
• Experience in documenting test environment
