IT Programmer/ Assistant Programmer
- The System support is a person with excellent technical skills to join our infrastructure team in maintaining a highly reliable and cost effective distributed Oracle environment. He/she will also be required to support business critical applications.
- He/she will be responsible for all aspects of support and maintenance for our college in house business application, web pages as well as Oracle, mySQL and MS SQL database management systems. This includes monitoring and tuning, backup and recovery support, develop and enforce database standards, support for project related database changes through development and production, assist and consult application developers and database end users, on call support, developing Internet recruitment strategies, training and educate professionals and students at various level of OC on using the tools currently available as well as those are developed by this individual.
- This position will provide the right individual with the opportunity to structure priorities and responsibilities to best fit our business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the complete software development life cycle.
- Develop accurate and efficient computer programs according to specifications
- Assist in design of systems and analysis of program specifications
- Prepare test data, test scripts and test coded programs thoroughly to validate completeness and accuracy
- Prepare development documentation (Functional, Program, User Specifications)
- Maintain current knowledge of standard programming languages, coding methods, operational requirements
- Assist in installation and deployment of system
- Provide technical support
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Computer Science/ Information Technology or its equivalent.
- Knowledge In The Use Of Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003
- Understanding Of Data Base Management System, Relational Data Design, Data Architecture
- Familiarity with RDBMS
- Basic experience In Oracle Database Management And/or Relational Database Application Development
- Knowledge Of SQL is essential
- Good Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with Chinese, English and Malay
- Proficient in ASP programming, Dynamic HTML, PERL programming is an advantage
- Proficient in Java programming is an advantage
- Proficient in Macromedia Flash and Shockwave is an advantage
- Proficient in ASP.NET and VB.NET programming is an advantage
- Experience with integrated of multimedia technologies
- Search engine submissions and tracking experience is an advantage
- Strong graphic design interest
- Web/internet related experience is a noted asset
- Knowledge In Use Of Modeling Techniques For Logical And Physical Database Design
- Understanding And Knowledge Of CASE Tool Usage is an advantage
- Work with application teams to provide Oracle technical expertise during selection, development, deployment, and upgrade phases
- Ability To Handle On call And Off Core Hours Responsibilities
