We require an experienced Senior Engineer to take on this important position, which reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager Asia and functionally to the Group Engineering Manager.
Regional Engineer / Engineering Manager, Asia
(This position will be based in Asia)
Responsibilities:
- The role has responsibility for Project Engineering and oversight of Maintenance processes and effectiveness on five manufacturing sites across Asia, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The incumbent will also play a key role in delivering significant planned greenfield plant expansion projects in the Region.
- Key objectives of the role include acting as the lead Project Engineer for key capital projects on the plants, supporting capital expenditure planning for the Region, and administering engineering policies and standards to ensure that the sites meet acceptable standards of maintenance and compliance with respect to safety and operational functionality.
Principal accountabilities include :
- Acting as the Lead Project Engineer on assigned capital projects including all aspects associated with project scoping, costing, design, permitting, construction, and commissioning
- Supporting the project management and engineering for planned large scale expansions of existing plant and also greenfield site expansions
- Ensuring the manufacturing sites establish and implement appropriate maintenance strategies to continually improve plant performance and reliability
- Identifying and implementing engineering based improvements resulting in optimized plant quality, productivity, and cost
- Identifying and correcting site noncompliances to Nuplex engineering standards and safety, health and environment requirements
Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be a seasoned "hands on" professional engineer with extensive experience in project specification, design, and project management, as well as site maintenance and plant reliability improvement, in a hazardous specialty chemical plant environment.
- Tertiary engineering qualifications, preferably mechanical, are mandatory, together with experience in a chemical or oil/gas process industry environment.
- Strong engineering skills will be essential as will be a demonstrable strong track record of achievement.
- Fluency in English is essential and Mandarin will be very highly regarded.
This position will be based in Asia (country and location negotiable for the right candidate) and the successful candidate must be able and willing to travel widely and extensively within the Region. A salary package will be negotiated commensurate with the importance of this position.
