Regional Network Director
(Kuala Lumpur)
Responsibilities:

Purpose of Job: 

To be classified into this level, the employee’s primary responsibility must be to manage and direct engineering, strategic planning, and operational activities associated with projects in the networking services domain (data, voice, video, call centers/IVR); ensure that engineering and implementation meet the standards established by the Global Network Services Group, CTO Office and Architects; ensure that Operational SLAs are being met.
Supervision: Manages NGN Network Engineering and Operations staff through subordinate Managers. Typically reports to a SVP Global Network Infrastructure.

Quantifiable Measures (as applicable, budget, loan volume, sales, GWP, etc.):
  • Management decision making, fully understand budgets, direction of networking strategy and implementation, direct Network Managers and Engineers
  • Manage staff in the engineering, implementation, management, and operational support of AIG’s global networking environment.
  • Work closely with other area managers (Open Systems and Mainframe Engineering) as well as Account Executives assigned to the Business Units and client departments in the implementation, maintenance and administration of voice telecommunications networks and facilities.
  • Manage projects according to the project life cycle.
  • Oversee assessments of interdependencies and requirements for client needs.
  • Instruct, assign, direct and check the work of the telecommunications engineers responsible for the operation of the voice network, monitoring and control areas (e.g., telecommunication systems, and the installation and maintenance of client area network lines and equipment).

Requirements:
  • Qualifications
  • Education: Related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 10 years experience in Telecommunications Engineering in a major corporation with large global networks including experience in communications  systems operations (design, forecasting, financial control and administration)
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of voice, PBX, audio/video and IP devices including routers, switches and hubs
  • Knowledge of IP telephony systems
  • Knowledge of basic operational disciplines such as troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Knowledge of voice related equipment
  • Advanced knowledge in Routing & Switching Protocols
  • Basic Level Training in Network Tools Proficient knowledge in the following disciplines:
  • Network Security – VPN
  • IPT
  • Transport
  • Network Monitoring & Management
  • Wireless

Certifications:
  • CCNP
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
