Job Vacancy MALAYSIAN PALM OIL ASSOCIATION (MPOA) May 2011

The Malaysian Palm Oil Association, recognized both locally and internationally, is the single body that represents the interests of private growers of oil palm and other plantation tree crops such as rubber, cocoa, coconut, tea, and banana. Formed in 1999 as a result of the merger of four industry based associations and councils, it has been tasked with the important function of balancing the needs and interests of the various sectors for synergy and development of the plantation commodity sector. MPOA’s mission is tensure the long term sustainability of the plantation industry in the country.

We invite suitable qualified candidates tapply for the following position:

Technical Executive
(Kuala Lumpur)

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting tthe Director - R&D, the successful candidate will support the MPOA Secretariat in information sourcing, monitoring of developments in the palm oil industry via the news media and collation of statistics.
  • The candidate will assist in analytical, written as well as administrative functions.
  • The candidate will assist in conducting the various internal meetings and performing the normal secretariat functions.
  • The candidate will assist in the compilation of the Association’s quarterly Newsletter and other correspondences as and when required.
  • The candidate will assist in member liaison and other related duties.

Requirements:
  • A degree holder, preferably with a science background, with good command of both oral and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is a must.
  • Competent in ICT (information and communication technology) especially in the use of Microsoft Words, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be an added advantage.
