Executive  Laboratory Facilities and Services Unit

(Perak  Bandar Seri Iskandar)

Responsibilities:
Accountability Objectives :

  • Planning, supervising, coordinating and executing appropriate activities in Man Power planning and staff development for subordinate.
  • Facilitate the overall execution of laboratory operation matters in program levels to be in line with the requirement set by the university.
  • Provide effective and efficient support services in Laboratory Facilities and Asset Management by adhering to established of guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist, support and advice on Research and Development and Consultancy.

Principal Accountabilities :
  • To support the Lab Head in Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, directing and evaluating the laboratory’s operational and performance.
  • To plan schedule, supervise, coordinate the arrangements of the allocation of subordinates work load, schedule and activities.
  • To introduce new ideas and methods according to laboratory policies in program levels.
  • To execute in the process of tender and contract as well as procuring and evaluating of consumable asset and consumables. (OPEX).
  • To assist in the process of purchasing of fixed asset.(CAPEX).
  • To arrange, and coordinate all public relation matters with relation to the laboratory in program level.
  • To support the HSE department in implementing the HSE MS.
  • To enforce compliance at all times with UTP laboratory Safety Policies and UTP laboratory Rules And Regulation.
  • To lodge, compile report and present to the Lab Head any defects in which it may affect safety in labs and facilities.
  • To enforce safe keeping of information obtained in the course of duties performed and to refrain from disclosing information without the consent of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, except by court order.
  • Proactively involve in the implementation and maintenance of corporate wide quality culture process (QCP), and health, safety and environment (HSE).
  • Perform other duties as and when requested by superiors.

Requirements:
Education :
  • Bachelor in engineering / technical field with 2 years working experience at organization related to management, technical and technology, OR
  • Diploma in Engineering or science with at least 5 years related working experiences.

Professional Working Experience :
  • Not Required but an advantage

Specific Skills and Knowledge :
  • Ability to encompass the effective integration of technological considerations into business decisionmaking.
  • Related field of management preferably in laboratory operation, Technology, Research and consultancy.
  • Also have adequate understanding, sufficient exposure of higher education environment.
  • Laboratory operation Management and Administration.
  • Procurement/ tender and contract.
  • Document control.
  • Control of records.
